Crowdfunding, then your site

Crowdfunding gets you backers before you launch. They prove people want it, pay for the first run and leave the reviews your site opens with. This starts with a free intro call.

Kickstarter, then Indiegogo, then your site

  1. A product that's far enough along to build, with manufacturing lined up.
  2. Kickstarter, to prove people want it and to fund the first run.
  3. Indiegogo InDemand, so pre-orders don't stop when the Kickstarter clock does.
  4. Import those orders into Shopify so the site doesn't open on an empty review page.

That money pays for production, and the backers tell you what to fix.

Purple, Groove Life, Ozlo

The Purple Pillow Kickstarter was the 42nd most-funded Kickstarter at the time. Groove Life grew from $3M to $50M+, and the hook was "Have you seen this ring?"

At Ozlo I was Head of Marketing & Growth from March 2023 to 2026. We raised over $8M across Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

Rocky Shah, our CEO, called it the #1 InDemand campaign of all time. He also put the commercial result at $20M+ revenue, 80K+ units sold, and a $50M run rate, and said sales 10x'd in under 90 days after launch.

When backers hear nothing, they fill in the silence themselves. So over-communicate, especially when you're late.
